1
Stand upright with feet together, holding jump rope handles with hands at hip height, rope behind heels and close to body. Maintain upright posture with core engaged and neutral spine.
2
Grip the rope handles firmly with both hands. Position feet together or slightly apart. Begin with the rope relaxed behind the heels. Prepare wrists and forearms for rotation movements.
3
As the rope comes forward overhead, bend knees slightly to prepare for jumping. Allow ankles and calves to dorsiflex. The rope extends upward and forward in an arc motion as wrists rotate.
4
Explosively extend hips, knees, and ankles to jump vertically as the rope passes overhead. Push through the balls of the feet to leave the ground. Land softly on balls of feet with knees slightly bent, immediately preparing for the next rotation cycle. Return to standing position as rope completes its arc.
