1
Lie supine on floor with knees bent, feet flat on ground hip-width apart, positioned close to buttocks. Head neutral, eyes gazing upward. Hands positioned behind head with fingers lightly supporting neck without pulling.
2
Engage core and prepare by taking a deep breath. Ensure lower back maintains neutral position against floor throughout movement. Position elbows out to sides.
3
Inhale as you lower torso back toward floor in a controlled manner, allowing abdominal muscles to lengthen. Do not fully relax at bottom position; maintain tension in core. Lower until shoulder blades nearly touch floor.
4
Exhale and contract abdominal muscles to lift shoulders and upper back off floor toward thighs. Drive movement from core flexion, not neck. Lift until shoulder blades clear floor, then return to starting position in controlled manner without momentum.
