1
Sit on a decline bench with feet secured under the foot pads. Position your torso at approximately 45 degrees to the bench. Place hands behind your head with fingers lightly supporting (not pulling) your head, or cross arms over chest.
2
Ensure your lower back maintains contact with the bench and engage your core by bracing your abdominal muscles. Keep your neck in neutral position aligned with your spine.
3
Lower your upper body backward by extending through the spine and hip flexors, allowing controlled descent toward the bench. Move through a full range of motion while maintaining core engagement to prevent lumbar strain.
4
Drive through your core and hip flexors to flex your spine, lifting your torso back up toward your knees. Perform a powerful concentric contraction of the rectus abdominis, returning to the starting position without momentum.
