1
Sit upright on a bench or box with feet flat on the floor, knees bent at approximately 90 degrees, and torso perpendicular to the floor. Keep hands at your sides for balance.
2
Maintain an upright posture with chest lifted and shoulders back. Engage your core and ensure your back remains straight throughout the movement. Position feet hip-width apart.
3
Slowly lower your body downward by allowing your knee angle to increase, bringing your hips down toward the floor while maintaining contact with the bench. Control the descent to approximately 3-4 seconds.
4
Drive through your heels and extend your knees to return to the starting position, pressing the quadriceps to straighten the legs fully. Complete the upward phase in approximately 1-2 seconds.
