1
Sit on the bench with your back firmly against the backrest, feet flat on the floor or leg extension platform. Position yourself so the knee joint aligns with the machine's pivot point. Grip the handles on the sides of the bench for stability.
2
Place the top of your feet or shins under the padded lever arm. Ensure the pad sits just above your ankles on the front of your lower leg. Adjust the seat position so your knees are at approximately 90 degrees in the starting position.
3
Slowly lower the weight by allowing your knees to bend in a controlled manner, returning to the starting position with approximately 90 degrees of knee flexion. Maintain contact with the backrest throughout the movement.
4
Drive through your quadriceps to extend your knees, pushing the lever upward in a controlled motion until your legs are nearly straight but not locked. Squeeze the quadriceps at the top of the movement before returning to the starting position.
