1
Stand on a sturdy bench or step platform with feet hip-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at sides with neutral grip. Ensure proper posture with chest up and shoulders back.
2
Position one foot forward on the bench with the other leg extended behind or off the bench edge. Maintain upright torso and engage core throughout the movement.
3
Lower your body by bending the front knee, allowing it to track over the toes while keeping the torso upright. Descend until the back knee approaches or lightly touches the bench, or until the front thigh is nearly parallel to the ground.
4
Drive through the front heel and straighten the front leg to return to the starting position. Maintain control and avoid locking the knee at the top. Complete all repetitions on one leg before switching sides.
