1
Stand on a step bench or aerobic platform with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells at sides with arms extended. Maintain upright posture with chest up and core engaged.
2
Position one foot forward on the step bench, keeping the other foot on the ground behind. Ensure the front knee is aligned over the ankle and the rear heel is elevated or lightly touching the ground.
3
Lower your body by bending the front knee, descending until the rear knee approaches the bench or ground. Control the descent through the quadriceps and glutes while maintaining an upright torso.
4
Drive through the front heel and extend the front leg, returning to the starting position. Push from the quadriceps to drive upward, then step down or alternate legs depending on the variation.
