1
Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, core engaged, and neutral spine. Hold dumbbells at sides with arms fully extended and palms facing inward.
2
Maintain a neutral grip on the dumbbells with elbows slightly bent. Ensure shoulders are packed down and back, away from ears. Brace core for stability.
3
Slowly raise both dumbbells laterally out to the sides in a controlled manner, maintaining the slight elbow bend throughout the movement. Lower the dumbbells back down to the starting position in a controlled eccentric phase.
4
Drive the dumbbells upward and outward by contracting the deltoids, raising arms to approximately shoulder height or slightly above. Squeeze at the top briefly, then lower with control back to starting position.
