1
Stand upright on an aerobic step platform with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells at your sides with arms extended and palms facing inward. Position the balls of your feet on the edge of the step with heels extending beyond the platform.
2
Grip the dumbbells firmly with a neutral grip. Ensure your core is engaged and your posture is upright with shoulders back. Your body should form a straight line from head to heels.
3
Slowly lower your heels below the level of the step by allowing your ankles to dorsiflex, stretching the calf muscles. Lower until you feel a comfortable stretch in the calves, maintaining control throughout the movement.
4
Press through the balls of your feet to plantarflex your ankles, raising your body upward onto your toes. Continue until you reach the highest point of the movement, then return to the starting position in a controlled manner.
