Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides with a neutral grip, arms fully extended, core engaged, and neutral spine alignment

Take a deep breath and prepare to initiate the movement by engaging shoulder stabilizers, maintaining a slight bend in the elbows throughout the exercise

Slowly lower the dumbbells out to the sides in a controlled manner, allowing the arms to descend in a wide arc while maintaining elbow alignment, until the arms reach approximately shoulder height or slightly below

Reverse the motion by driving the dumbbells upward through shoulder abduction, squeezing the deltoids at the top of the movement, then return to the starting position with control and repeat
