1
Stand upright on a step platform with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells at sides with arms straight, chest up, and core engaged. Position yourself at the edge of the step with your body weight distributed evenly across both feet.
2
Establish a firm grip on the dumbbells with neutral wrist position. Engage your core and maintain neutral spine alignment. Look forward and prepare to step forward by shifting weight to your back leg.
3
Step forward with one leg off the platform, lowering your body by bending both knees. Lower until the rear knee nearly touches the ground and the front knee bends to approximately 90 degrees. Keep your torso upright and dumbbell position stable at your sides throughout the descent.
4
Drive through the front heel and extend both legs to return to the starting position on the platform. Push off the ground with the front leg to stand fully upright. Return to neutral standing position before performing the next repetition on the opposite side.
