1
Sit on a flat bench with feet flat on the floor, torso upright, and back against the bench. Hold dumbbells at your sides with arms extended naturally or resting on thighs.
2
Secure your grip on the dumbbells with neutral wrist position. Position feet hip-width apart with toes pointing forward. Engage core and maintain neutral spine throughout the movement.
3
Lower your body by bending at the knees and hips, descending into a lunge position while keeping the bench behind you. The rear leg extends backward with knee tracking toward the ground. Lower with control until the front knee reaches approximately 90 degrees of flexion.
4
Drive through the front heel and engage the quadriceps to extend the knee and hip, returning to the starting position. Push off powerfully while maintaining dumbbells at your sides. Complete all repetitions on one leg before switching sides, or alternate legs in a stepping pattern.
