1
Sit upright on a bench with feet firmly planted on the floor. Keep your torso stable and core engaged throughout the movement.
2
Hold a dumbbell with both hands behind your head, arms bent at approximately 90 degrees. Position the dumbbell close to the back of your head with elbows pointing forward and in.
3
Lower the dumbbell in a controlled manner by bending at the elbows, bringing the weight behind and below the top of your head while keeping upper arms stationary. The forearms should move toward the shoulders.
4
Press the dumbbell upward by extending the elbows, driving through the triceps to return to the starting position. Fully extend the arms at the top but avoid locking out the elbows completely.
