1
Sit upright on a bench with feet flat on the floor or footrest. Hold a dumbbell with both hands behind your head, with elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees and positioned close to your head.
2
Grip the dumbbell with both hands cupping the upper plate. Position elbows in a fixed position pointing forward and slightly inward. Ensure your back is straight and core is engaged.
3
Lower the dumbbell in a controlled manner by bending at the elbows, moving the weight behind and below the head. Keep elbows stationary and close to the body throughout the descent. Stop when forearms approach parallel to the ground.
4
Press the dumbbell upward by extending the elbows, driving through the triceps to return to the starting position. Maintain elbow position and avoid flaring elbows outward. Complete the movement with a full triceps contraction at the top.
