1
Sit upright on a bench with feet flat on the floor or supported. Hold a dumbbell in each hand at chest level, elbows bent to approximately 90 degrees, palms facing forward.
2
Position dumbbells at shoulder height with elbows slightly below chest level. Ensure torso is upright and core is engaged. Maintain neutral spine alignment throughout the movement.
3
Lower the dumbbells in a controlled manner by allowing elbows to bend and move slightly outward. Descend until dumbbells reach approximately mid-chest height, feeling a stretch across the chest without locking or collapsing the shoulder blades.
4
Press the dumbbells forward and upward explosively by extending the elbows and contracting the chest muscles. Return to the starting position with control, stopping just short of full elbow extension to maintain tension on the chest throughout the set.
