Stand upright with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells at sides with arms extended and palms facing inward. Engage core and maintain neutral spine alignment.

Take a controlled step forward with one leg, lowering your body weight. Keep your torso upright and shoulders back. The dumbbells remain at your sides throughout the movement.

Lower your body by bending both knees until the back knee nearly touches the ground and the front knee reaches approximately 90 degrees. The front knee should not extend beyond the toes. Control the descent with the quadriceps.

Push through the front heel to drive your body back to the starting position, extending the front leg. Return to standing with feet hip-width apart before performing the next repetition on the opposite leg.
