Grip the dumbbell with a neutral grip (palms facing each other) in one hand. Ensure core engagement and slight forward lean from hips to prepare for the pulling motion.

Lower the dumbbell in a controlled manner by extending the arm downward and allowing the shoulder to protract (move forward), creating a stretch in the lat muscle. Maintain core stability throughout the descent.

Pull the dumbbell upward and back by retracting the scapula and performing a rowing motion, bringing the dumbbell toward the torso at rib level. Squeeze the lat at the top of the movement before returning to start position.
