1
Lie supine on a flat bench with feet firmly planted on the floor or bench. Position shoulders at approximately 90 degrees to the body. Grasp dumbbells with neutral grip at chest level, elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees.
2
Press dumbbells upward in a controlled manner with a slight arc, bringing hands closer together at the top of the movement. Maintain neutral wrist alignment throughout preparation.
3
Lower the dumbbells in a controlled manner along an arc path, allowing elbows to descend until upper arms are approximately parallel to the ground. Feel a stretch across the chest without allowing elbows to drop below shoulder level.
4
Press dumbbells upward explosively, driving through the chest muscles. Return to starting position with dumbbells at chest level, maintaining control throughout the concentric phase. Squeeze chest muscles at the top position briefly before beginning next repetition.
