1
Sit on an adjustable weight bench with feet firmly planted on the floor. Maintain an upright torso position with a slight forward lean from the hips. Keep your chest up and shoulders back in a neutral posture.
2
Grasp a dumbbell in one hand with a neutral grip (palm facing inward). Position the dumbbell at shoulder height with the elbow bent. Brace your core and ensure stability through the bench contact points.
3
Lower the dumbbell in a controlled manner by extending the arm forward and slightly downward, allowing the elbow to straighten while maintaining a slight bend. The dumbbell travels in an arc away from your body as the lat lengthens.
4
Drive the dumbbell back to the starting position by retracting the shoulder blade and pulling the elbow back and down, contracting the lat maximally. Return to shoulder height with controlled tension before the next repetition.
