1
Sit on a flat weight bench with back firmly against the backrest, feet flat on the floor or footrest. Position shoulders in a stable, retracted position. Maintain neutral spine alignment throughout the movement.
2
Hold dumbbells at chest level with elbows bent approximately 90 degrees, palms facing forward. Position dumbbells slightly wider than shoulder width. Core engaged, chest up, shoulders relaxed.
3
Lower the dumbbells in a controlled manner by allowing elbows to bend, creating an arc path that brings dumbbells down and slightly outward. Stop when upper arms reach approximately parallel to the floor. Maintain stability and avoid bouncing at the bottom position.
4
Press dumbbells upward and together by contracting the chest, driving through hands and shoulders. Return to starting position with elbows nearly extended but not locked. Squeeze chest briefly at the top before beginning the next repetition.
