1
Sit on an adjustable weight bench set to incline position. Back firmly against the backrest with feet flat on floor or footrest. Dumbbells held at shoulder height with elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees, palms facing forward.
2
Grip dumbbells with neutral wrist position. Position dumbbells slightly wider than shoulder width. Engage core and maintain neutral spine against backrest. Take a deep breath to prepare.
3
Slowly lower dumbbells in a controlled manner by bending elbows, moving weights down and slightly outward in an arc. Lower until dumbbells reach approximately mid-chest level or slightly below shoulders. Maintain tension throughout the movement.
4
Push dumbbells upward and inward through chest muscles, extending arms toward midline while maintaining slight elbow bend at the top. Exhale as you press. Return to starting position with control and repeat for prescribed repetitions.
