Overview

If you want to isolate and overload the Quadriceps, the Dumbbell Clean is an excellent addition to your routine. The mechanics of this Strength exercise specifically bias the Thighs, while the use of Dumbbell allows for a smooth, natural resistance curve.

Benefits

  • Acts as a highly scalable Strength movement, perfect for both beginners and elite athletes.
  • Significantly enhances the structural integrity and power of the Quadriceps.
  • Reduces the likelihood of Thighs injuries by reinforcing connective tissue strength.
  • Allows for a natural movement path that closely mimics functional daily activities.

Pro Tips

If you feel this primarily in your joints rather than the Quadriceps, instantly lower the weight and readjust your Dumbbell setup.

Muscle Anatomy

The primary driver is the Quadriceps. However, the movement also recruits Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius, Erector Spinae to maintain control of the Dumbbell.
