1
Lie flat on a weight bench with your back and head supported against the bench surface. Position feet firmly on the floor or footrest. Grip dumbbells with hands at chest level, elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees.
2
Hold dumbbells with a neutral grip (palms facing forward). Position the weights at mid-chest height with elbows slightly below shoulder level. Ensure shoulders are retracted and core is engaged.
3
Slowly lower the dumbbells in a controlled manner by allowing the elbows to descend and move slightly outward. Lower until dumbbells reach approximately chest level or slightly below, maintaining a slight bend in the elbows throughout.
4
Press the dumbbells upward and inward by driving through the chest muscles. Return to starting position with a controlled motion, bringing dumbbells back to chest height. Squeeze the chest muscles at the top of the movement.
