1
Sit upright on a bench with back support, feet firmly planted on the floor or footrest. Hold dumbbells at shoulder height with elbows bent at 90 degrees and palms facing forward.
2
Grip the dumbbells firmly with neutral wrist alignment. Position dumbbells at ear level with elbows slightly in front of the body. Ensure core is engaged and back maintains contact with the bench.
3
Lower the dumbbells in a controlled manner by bending the elbows, moving them down and slightly forward to approximately shoulder height or slightly below. Maintain a 90-degree elbow angle and prevent dumbbells from dropping below shoulder level.
4
Press the dumbbells upward and slightly inward in an arc motion until arms are nearly fully extended overhead. Dumbbells should finish in line with the body or slightly in front. Return to starting position with control.
