Lie flat on your back on a mat or floor with legs extended. Keep your head and shoulders relaxed against the floor, arms at your sides for stability.

Engage your core by tightening your abdominal muscles. Position one leg extended on the floor while preparing to lift the opposite leg.

Slowly lower the extended leg toward the floor in a controlled manner without allowing it to touch down completely. Maintain a neutral spine and keep the opposite leg stationary or slightly bent.

Drive through the quadriceps to raise the leg back up to starting position. Return to the elevated position and repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions before switching legs.
