1
Stand facing a pull-up bar with feet hip-width apart, arms fully extended overhead gripping the bar with hands shoulder-width to slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, palms facing forward or slightly outward
2
Engage your core and maintain a neutral spine. Take a deep breath and prepare to initiate the pulling motion by depressing and retracting your shoulder blades
3
From the hanging position, allow your body to lower slowly and in a controlled manner, extending your arms fully while maintaining slight tension in the lats. Keep your core braced and avoid excessive swinging
4
Drive your elbows downward and backward, pulling your body upward toward the bar. Lead with your chest and pull until your chin reaches or passes the bar level. Squeeze the lats at the top of the movement, then lower back to the starting position with control
