1
Sit on the floor or mat with knees bent and feet flat on the ground, positioned hip-width apart. Place hands behind head with elbows flared out to sides, supporting the head without pulling on neck.
2
Engage core by drawing navel toward spine. Ensure lower back maintains contact with floor throughout movement. Position feet approximately 12 inches from glutes.
3
Lower torso backward toward floor in a controlled manner, extending one or both legs forward as shown. Keep core engaged to prevent lower back from arching excessively.
4
Contract abdominal muscles to lift torso upward, bringing chest toward thighs. Return to starting seated position with knees bent, maintaining continuous tension on abdominals.
