1
Stand facing a wall with feet hip-width apart, approximately 12-18 inches away from the wall. Place both hands on the wall at shoulder height with arms extended.
2
Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels. Engage your core and maintain neutral spine alignment. Press your hands firmly against the wall for support and balance.
3
Slowly lower your heels toward the ground by bending at the ankles, feeling a stretch in the back of your legs. Keep your knees straight but not locked. Lower as far as comfortable while maintaining contact between heels and ground.
4
Push through the balls of your feet and rise up onto your toes by contracting your calf muscles. Drive your heels back toward the ground in a controlled manner to complete one repetition. Maintain hand contact with wall throughout.
