Sit upright on the machine bench with your back firmly against the backrest. Position your feet flat on the platform. Adjust the seat height so the handles align with mid-chest level.

Grasp both handles with a neutral grip (palms facing inward). Your elbows should be bent at approximately 90 degrees and positioned slightly below shoulder height. Engage your core and maintain neutral spine alignment.

Slowly allow the handles to travel backward in a controlled manner by opening your chest. Let your elbows move back while maintaining a slight bend. This is the eccentric phase where the chest muscles lengthen under tension.

Drive the handles forward in a controlled, smooth motion by contracting your chest muscles. Push until the handles return to the starting position without fully locking out at the elbows. Exhale during the pushing phase and return to the starting position.
