1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet hip-width apart on the platform. Position the body upright with neutral spine alignment and core engaged. Maintain a slight forward lean from the ankles.
2
Attach the cable handle to the ankle strap and secure it around one ankle. Hold the machine frame or handles for balance with both hands. Keep the standing leg slightly bent with weight distributed evenly through the foot.
3
Slowly pull the working leg backward in a controlled manner, allowing the cable to create resistance as the hip extends. Keep the working leg relatively straight but not locked, maintaining a slight bend at the knee throughout the movement.
4
Drive the working leg backward and upward by contracting the glutes, pulling against the cable resistance. Squeeze the glute at the end of the movement, then slowly return the leg to the starting position with control. Complete all repetitions on one side before switching legs.
