1
Stand between two cable machine handles with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and core engaged. Position yourself upright with neutral spine alignment in the center of the cable crossover frame.
2
Grip both cable handles with a neutral grip (palms facing each other) at chest height. Ensure handles are positioned at approximately shoulder width. Engage your core before initiating movement.
3
Slowly lower your torso by flexing at the waist, allowing the handles to travel downward while maintaining control. Keep a slight bend in the knees throughout. The movement is a crunch-like motion where the pelvis tilts slightly and the ribcage draws toward the hips, resisting the cable tension throughout the descent.
4
Drive through your abdominal muscles to pull yourself back to the starting upright position. Flex the rectus abdominis forcefully to return to full spinal extension. Squeeze the abdominal muscles at the top of the movement before beginning the next repetition.
