1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart, approximately 2-3 feet from the machine. Grasp the rope attachment with both hands at chest height, keeping elbows slightly bent and close to the torso.
2
Position yourself with neutral spine and engaged core. Hold the rope handles firmly with hands positioned near the sides of the head. Maintain an upright posture with shoulders back and chest up.
3
Slowly extend the torso and arms forward, allowing the cable to pull you slightly backward while maintaining control. Keep core engaged throughout to prevent excessive lower back extension. This is the lengthening phase of the abdominal muscles.
4
Powerfully contract the abdominal muscles by crunching forward and downward, bringing the elbows toward the hips. The movement is driven by core flexion. Return to the starting position in a controlled manner, maintaining tension on the abs throughout.
