1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart, approximately 2-3 feet away from the machine. Attach the cable handle to one leg using an ankle strap. Keep your torso upright and core engaged throughout the movement.
2
Grip the machine frame or nearby structure with your hands for balance and stability. Position the working leg with knee slightly bent. Ensure the cable attachment is secure around the ankle with the resistance set to an appropriate weight.
3
Slowly lower the working leg backward in a controlled manner, allowing the knee to bend as the cable extends. Move through a full range of motion while maintaining an upright posture and keeping tension on the working leg. The non-working leg remains stable.
4
Drive the working leg forward and upward against the cable resistance, extending the knee and hip to return to the starting position. Squeeze the quadriceps at the top of the movement. Complete all repetitions on one leg before switching to the other leg.
