1
Sit upright on the machine seat with back against the backrest. Grip the handles with arms extended forward at shoulder height. Keep feet flat on the footrest and maintain neutral spine alignment.
2
Adjust seat height so handles align with mid-chest. Ensure shoulders are relaxed and away from ears. Take a deep breath to prepare for the pulling motion.
3
Slowly pull the handles toward your body by retracting your shoulder blades, allowing elbows to flare out to the sides. Control the movement as the weight stack descends, feeling the stretch across your back and shoulders over 2-3 seconds.
4
Drive through your mid-back and squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end position, bringing handles close to your torso. Pause briefly, then return handles to starting position with controlled movement, allowing shoulders to protract slightly as arms extend.
