1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart, maintaining an upright posture with a neutral spine. Attach the cable handle to one ankle using the ankle strap.
2
Shift weight onto the standing leg while keeping a slight knee bend. Engage your core and maintain an upright torso throughout the movement. The leg being worked should be in a neutral starting position.
3
Slowly lower the leg forward by extending the knee, allowing the cable to pull your leg into hip flexion while maintaining control. Keep the working leg relatively straight and move through a controlled range of motion.
4
Powerfully contract the hamstrings and glutes to drive the leg backward and upward, bringing the knee up toward the glutes. Return to the starting position with the leg extended in front, squeezing the hamstrings at the top of the movement before repeating.
