1
Sit on the cable machine seat with back against the backrest, feet secured under the foot pads or on the floor for stability. Grasp the cable handle with both hands at chest level, keeping elbows bent and positioned close to the torso.
2
Position yourself firmly against the backrest with a neutral spine. Ensure the cable attachment is set to chest height and the weight is appropriate. Maintain a firm grip on the handle with both hands and prepare core musculature by drawing navel toward spine.
3
Slowly extend your legs forward while simultaneously allowing your torso to follow the cable resistance, creating a controlled lengthening of the abdominal muscles. Maintain tension on the cable throughout the entire eccentric phase without allowing the weight to rest completely.
4
Contract your abdominal muscles powerfully by flexing the spine and drawing your knees toward your chest while pulling the cable handle toward your torso. Complete the movement by bringing knees and handle together, achieving peak abdominal contraction, then return to starting position with controlled resistance.
