1
Sit on the machine bench with feet firmly planted on the ground or footrest. Grip the overhead handle with both hands using a wide pronated grip (palms facing away), arms fully extended overhead. Maintain an upright torso position with core engaged.
2
Ensure shoulder blades are in a retracted position and maintain neutral spine. Take a deep breath and prepare to initiate the pulling motion by engaging the latissimus dorsi muscles. Keep elbows slightly bent throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the handle back to the starting position with control, allowing the weight to extend your arms overhead. Maintain tension in the lats and avoid excessive arching of the lower back. Inhale during this lengthening phase over 2-3 seconds.
4
Powerfully drive the elbows down and back, pulling the handle toward your chest in a controlled motion. Squeeze the latissimus dorsi maximally at the bottom of the movement. Exhale as you complete the concentric phase, then return to extended position.
