1
Sit on the machine bench with your back upright and torso perpendicular to the floor. Grip the cable attachment with both hands using a neutral or slightly wider than shoulder-width grip. Position your feet firmly on the footrest or floor.
2
Ensure your seated position is stable with chest slightly elevated. Engage your core and maintain a slight arch in your lower back. Keep your head neutral and look straight ahead throughout the movement.
3
Initiate the movement by allowing the cable to pull your arms forward and slightly upward as you lean slightly forward from the hips. Control the extension of your arms in a smooth, controlled manner, feeling the stretch in your latissimus dorsi and shoulder muscles.
4
Pull the cable attachment back toward your torso by retracting your shoulder blades and driving your elbows down and back. Bring the handles to your upper chest/lower chin area, achieving a full contraction of the latissimus dorsi. Return to the starting position with control over 2-3 seconds.
