1
Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart, approximately 2-3 feet away from the machine. Maintain upright posture with core engaged and hands on hips or resting against the machine for light support.
2
Attach the ankle cuff to one leg at the level of the ankle. Secure the cable attachment to the ankle using the provided strap or cuff. Ensure the cable is properly threaded and the weight stack is set to appropriate resistance.
3
Slowly extend the working leg backward against cable resistance, maintaining a controlled tempo. Allow the knee to bend slightly as the leg moves behind the body in a hip extension and knee flexion pattern. The movement should be smooth without locking or jerking.
4
Drive the leg forward and upward by extending the knee and flexing the hip against the cable resistance, returning to the starting position. Complete the movement with a controlled squeeze of the quadriceps at full extension before beginning the next repetition.
