1
Lie supine on the floor with knees bent at approximately 90 degrees, feet flat on ground hip-width apart. Place hands behind head with elbows bent and pointing outward. Maintain neutral spine alignment with lower back in contact with floor.
2
Engage core muscles and prepare for movement. Ensure neck remains neutral with hands lightly supporting the head without pulling. Keep feet firmly planted throughout the exercise.
3
Lower your torso by extending legs and returning to starting position in a controlled manner, allowing abdominal muscles to lengthen. Maintain core tension and avoid excessive lumbar extension.
4
Perform a crunching motion by flexing the spine and drawing ribs toward pelvis, lifting upper back and shoulders off floor. Exhale during concentric phase, contracting rectus abdominis maximally before returning to starting position with control.
