Bridge Hip Abduction

Instructions

1
Lie supine on your back on a flat surface with your head supported. Position your right leg bent with foot flat on the floor, and extend your left leg straight up toward the ceiling at approximately 90 degrees at the hip.
2
Keep your lower back pressed against the floor throughout the movement. Engage your core and ensure your non-working leg remains flat on the ground for stability. Hands can rest at sides or across chest for support.
3
Slowly lower your extended leg toward the floor in a controlled manner without allowing your lower back to arch or lift off the surface. Stop just short of touching the ground or at the point where your lower back begins to lift.
4
Drive through your quadriceps to raise your extended leg back up to the starting position (90 degrees hip flexion). Maintain control throughout and return to the full starting position before repeating.
