1
Stand facing the bench with feet hip-width apart, positioned close enough to the bench that you can place one foot on it. Keep your torso upright and core engaged throughout the movement.
2
Place one foot flat on the bench surface at approximately mid-thigh height. Maintain an upright posture with hands clasped in front of chest or at sides for balance. The working leg should be positioned to allow the knee to bend naturally.
3
Lower your body by bending the knee of the leg on the bench, allowing controlled descent. Keep your front knee tracking over your toes and lower until the back knee approaches or lightly touches the ground, creating approximately 90-degree angles at both knees.
4
Push through the heel of the elevated foot to drive your body back up to the starting position. Extend the knee of the working leg while maintaining an upright torso. Complete all repetitions on one leg before switching sides.
