1
Stand facing a pull-up bar mounted on a sturdy structure. Position feet on a bench or platform below the bar with hands gripping the bar slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, palms facing away from body.
2
Engage your core and ensure your body is upright with a slight forward lean. Depress your shoulder blades and prepare to initiate the pulling movement by retracting the scapula.
3
Lower your body in a controlled manner by extending your arms fully, allowing the lats to lengthen. Keep your core engaged and maintain a slight forward lean throughout the descent. The movement should be slow and controlled.
4
Pull your body upward by driving your elbows down and back, initiating the movement from your lats rather than your arms. Retract your shoulder blades and flex the latissimus dorsi to bring your chest toward the bar. Return to the starting position with arms fully extended.
