1
Stand upright with feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent. Hold a barbell with an overhand grip at arm's length in front of your body, hands positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
2
Engage your core and maintain neutral spine alignment. Position your shoulders back and down. Keep arms straight throughout the movement with a slight bend at the elbows.
3
Lower the barbell in a controlled manner by allowing your shoulders to relax downward and arms to extend fully toward the ground. Maintain a neutral wrist position and keep the bar close to your body throughout the descent.
4
Explosively shrug your shoulders upward toward your ears, driving through your traps. Pull the barbell upward by elevating your shoulders, pause briefly at the top, then return to starting position with controlled tempo.
