1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, holding a dumbbell horizontally at chest level with both hands using a neutral grip. Maintain an upright torso with neutral spine alignment.
2
Engage your core and ensure your shoulders are retracted. Position the dumbbell close to your torso at mid-chest height. Keep your elbows slightly bent throughout the movement.
3
Lower the dumbbell by retracting your scapula and allowing your elbows to extend slightly, moving the weight away from your body in a controlled arc. Maintain a slight forward bend at the torso as the weight moves downward and outward.
4
Pull the dumbbell back toward your chest by retracting your scapula and engaging your lats. Drive your elbows backward and inward, finishing with the dumbbell returned to the starting position at chest level. Squeeze your lats at the peak contraction.
