1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, barbell resting across shoulders behind neck with hands gripping the bar wider than shoulder-width. Core engaged, chest up, and eyes focused forward. Back remains neutral throughout the movement.
2
Grip the barbell firmly with both hands positioned evenly. Position feet directly under hips with toes pointed slightly outward (5-10 degrees). Engage core muscles and maintain an upright torso before initiating the descent.
3
Inhale while lowering the body by bending at knees and hips simultaneously. Lower until thighs are parallel to the ground or slightly below, keeping knees tracking over toes. Weight remains centered in midfoot. Movement is controlled without bouncing at the bottom.
4
Exhale while pressing through midfoot and heel to drive upward. Extend knees and hips simultaneously to return to standing position. Maintain upright posture and core tension throughout the ascent. Complete full knee extension at the top without locking knees.
