1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a loaded barbell across the upper back and shoulders with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width. Chest up, shoulders back, core engaged, neutral spine maintained throughout.
2
Position feet flat on ground with weight distributed evenly across mid-foot and heels. Keep eyes forward, take a deep breath into core, and prepare to descend by initiating hip and knee flexion simultaneously.
3
Lower the body by simultaneously bending hips and knees, keeping chest upright and weight centered over mid-foot. Descend until thighs reach parallel to floor or slightly below, maintaining neutral spine alignment and knees tracking over toes.
4
Drive through mid-foot and heels to extend hips and knees simultaneously, returning to standing position. Maintain upright posture and controlled movement throughout ascent, exhale as you drive upward to complete one repetition.
