Barbell Seated Overhead Triceps Extension

Instructions

1
Sit upright on a flat bench with back firmly supported. Hold a barbell with both hands using an overhand grip (palms facing away). Position hands shoulder-width apart or slightly narrower. Press the barbell overhead until arms are fully extended with elbows locked.
2
Grip the barbell securely with hands positioned at shoulder width or slightly narrower. Maintain a neutral spine and engaged core. Ensure feet are flat on the floor or bench for stability. The barbell should be positioned above and slightly behind the head at the starting position.
3
Slowly lower the barbell in a controlled manner by bending the elbows, bringing the weight toward the back of the head and neck area. Keep elbows stationary and pointed forward throughout the descent. Lower until forearms reach approximately 90 degrees or slightly less, maintaining tension in the triceps.
4
Press the barbell upward by extending the elbows, driving through the triceps to return to the starting position with arms fully extended overhead. Maintain controlled movement without locking out aggressively. Complete the repetition with full triceps contraction at the top position.
