Sit upright on the bench with back against the backrest, feet flat on the floor or footrest. Hold the barbell with an underhand grip (palms facing forward), arms extended downward at your sides with a slight bend in the elbows.

Position hands shoulder-width apart on the barbell. Ensure shoulders are relaxed and core is engaged. Maintain neutral spine positioning throughout the movement.

Slowly lower the barbell in a controlled manner by extending the elbows, allowing the arms to return to near full extension while maintaining a slight bend. Resist the weight during the descent phase.

Curl the barbell upward by flexing the elbows and contracting the biceps, bringing the bar toward your shoulders. Squeeze the biceps at the top of the movement, then return to the starting position in a controlled manner.
