1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell or loaded bar at mid-thigh level with a neutral grip. Maintain a neutral spine with slight knee flexion and shoulders retracted.
2
Position the bar close to your body with hands gripping just outside the legs. Engage your core and prepare for the hip hinge movement.
3
Slowly bend at the hips and knees, allowing the bar to travel down the front of your legs while maintaining a neutral spine. Keep the bar close to your body and controlled throughout the descent.
4
Drive through your heels and extend your hips and knees simultaneously to return to the starting position. Maintain neutral spine alignment and controlled movement throughout the concentric phase.
